The Post Colonialism Theory

    The post colonialism theory, from Paul Gilroy, suggests that media that is consumed to this day is still affected by colonialism. It is shown that media these days use many Eurocentric elements which are represented to show audience that European or white people are superior, powerful, and often has a role of the good and nicer guy compared to the "others", which usually are represented as the minorities and exotic.

    An example of media text which conforms with colonialism theory by representing Eurocentric elements is Johnny English Strikes Again, a movie that was released in 2018 as a sequel of the first movie, Johnny English, released in 2003, and the second movie Johnny English Reborn, released in 2011. This movie stars Rowan Atkinson as the main character, Johnny English, playing an important role in the movie Johnny English.
